Physicists from the University of Crete have found that animals are operating near-quantum-limit levels of magnetoreception.

They say they're doing so in ways that push at the very limits of quantum physics.

The researchers say some of the proposed mechanisms are feasible, but they also would theoretically, at least be operating right at that quantum limit.
