Woman evicted from NHS hospital ward after being stuck for 18 months

75% Informative
Jessie spent 550 days in Northampton General Hospital but was unable to find a suitable place to leave.
The NHS took costly High Court action to have her evicted from the hospital bed she was occupying.
She was eventually arrested and taken to a care home where she says she feels anxious.
Department of Health and Social Care : "This is a troubling case which shows how the NHS discharge system is failing vulnerable people".
Jessie should be able to express a preference about where she lives.
She has mental capacity but was assessed by the NHS as needing a professional advocate.
Her case was closed after she asked for a new advocate but then didn't respond to further contact.
The hospital did provide Jessie with mental health support while she was in her cubicle.
But she believed no-one was listening to her.
