Durham police officers were called to Mary Street North near Taunton Road around 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday for the incident. Police say a vehicle was traveling southbound on Mary Street when it came to a stop. A female passenger exited the vehicle and then was struck as it drove away. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. The collision is still under investigation..
