Volvo Cars weighs tariffs-led production move, warns of 'hyper-competitiveness' in China

Sweden 's Volvo Cars on Thursday reported a 12% rise in operating income to 22.3 billion Swedish kronor ( $2.04 billion ) on an 8% sales increase and record revenue.

However, it said 2025 would be a "challenging and transition year" toward its long-term growth ambitions, when it expected slower market growth and "increased discounts" across the industry.

Volvo Cars CEO Jim Rowan told CNBC the company was looking at "production relocation or or supplier relocation" as a result of U.S. tariffs.
