House unanimously passes bill banning county clerks from tracking ballots
76% Informative
H.B. 69 , also known as Government Records and Information Amendments , passed through the House of Representatives 72-0 with 3 being absent.
The bill was run in response to Utah County Clerk Aaron Davidson tracking the ballots of elected officials and publicly revealing the method used to cast those ballots of at least one state lawmaker.
Davidson has defended his decision saying anyone can get access to the way someone voted in an “as voted” list.
