The U.K. Competition and Markets Authority has reached an agreement with Google to combat fake online reviews.
The regulator had opened an investigation into several online platforms in May 2020 , with formal enforcement cases launched against Google and Amazon .
As part of the deal, Google is putting in place “rigorous steps” to identify and remove fake reviews on Google and Google Maps .
