57% Informative

Saint Marigles was liberated by the Americans on D-Day , June 6th, 1944 .

The famous church and the paratrooper hanging up there still remain 79 years on.

We will go and find the then nows around the church and then take a walk around the town and see what still remains.

The First Battalion was tasked with going out to secure St Merigles on D-Day , securing the West and securing Chef DuPont and Chef du Pont.

But from here, if we head down toward the, the Lafayette or the road that leads you on toward Lafayette and shift DuPont will there's just one more that I've wanted to find.

And for a long time, I didn't realise this was in San Mariglis .

St. Marigles was the second busiest place in France next to Paris .

The first aid station was the field hospital used by the 82nd Airborne after this whole area was was secure.

And we've got this great posed action shot here, these guys storming what is now that little shop there.

And the final then and now photo for this part of somewhere of Glees is this one.
