Saddledome Thursday nightcalgaryherald
•Review: Sum 41 refuse to go gently into the sunset during energetic final Calgary show at the Saddledome
57% Informative
Deryck Whibley led the one -time Canadian kings of pop-punk on the Calgary stop of what he has said will their last tour.
From the very first song, the evening had an unrelenting go-for-broke feel.
It seems unbelievable that it has been nearly 30 years since Sum 41 burst out of Toronto -area suburbs to ride a skate-punk wave to a lengthy career.
Toronto ’s Pup may have been the most musically interesting act of the night.
They upped the punk energy with dizzying strobe lights, hardcore fury and even some brief crowd surfing.
At the end of their set Stefan Babcock thanked the audience for being “extremely polite”.
