In just over two months , five women were killed in Nova Scotia by a male partner, police say.
The legislature adopted a bill in September declaring domestic violence an epidemic.
Each of the five recent incidents of intimate partner violence were murder-suicides.
In one case, the woman’s father was also killed.
A 60-year-old woman, 75 , and a 75-year old man were found dead in Mahone Bay , Nova Scotia, on Jan. 5 .
Police say the woman's death was a result of homicide and the man's was self-inflicted wounds.
Neighbour Pat Smith said the two were his friends and they often spent time together.
The AG Attorney General and Justice Minister said she will be meeting with the advocacy groups.
