EU is reportedly close to deciding whether X’s attempts to combat illegal content are compliant with EU digital service rulebook.

A letter to EU lawmakers was sent by EU justice chief Michael McGrath and tech policy leader Henna Virkkunen .

The letter was prompted by a complaint from center-right German lawmakers over concerns regarding Elon Musk's promotion of Germany 's far-right party leader on X.

Yesterday , Meta announced it was inspired by X to scrap fact-checkers in favor of implementing its own Community Notes program.
