The FEC opinion paved the way for President-elect Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign to enter into agreements for canvassing coordination with outside organizations, including a PAC funded by Elon Musk .
A Democratic attorney pushed the FEC to allow a George Soros-funded PAC to coordinate on canvassing get-out-the-vote efforts.
