The Black Ghost was named after a legendary drag racer from the 1970s that allegedly dominated the illegal drag racing scene in Detroit .

A third of the planned production units for the Black Ghost is still in stock on dealer lots.

The 1970 Dodge Challenger Black Ghost was 1 of just 23 1970 registered R/T SE models kitted out with a four -speed manual gearbox.

It was the only known 1970 model to come with the optional Gator Grain roof and Dana 60 rear axle and Sure-Grip limited-slip diff.

The Black Ghost sold for $1 million in early 2023 .
