Scientists develop record-breaking tech that could slash the cost of solar power: 'We've significantly advanced the durability'
86% Informative
Researchers at Northwestern University have found a more resilient coating layer for perovskite solar cells.
The new layer of amidinium is better able to protect the cells from harsh environmental stresses like heat and moisture.
They found the coating is 10 times more resilient to decomposition than those using ammonium.
The increased resilience will be a boon for the commercial end of the sector, as solar power becomes a more grid-connected utility.
