PlayStation (Not So) Portable's cloud gaming features on PlayStation Portal still have a long way to go before it's going to disrupt the industry or change player behavior in any meaningful way.
Cloud gaming on PS Portal retains the same problems cloud gaming has always had, especially if you want to play anywhere other than at home.
The best performance came from tethering to my own phone, getting a speed of 47 Mbps and not having to share bandwidth with other network users.
PS Portal can connect to public Wi-Fi for “regular” streaming from your own PS5.
At home, cloud gaming is still a beta, but results were still mixed.
Control inputs would occasionally lag when cloud streaming was tested at home and away.
Sony needs to drastically improve discoverability in the cloud gaming catalog.
