•Council approves halving of maximum transitional pay for ousted incumbents

Councillors will no longer be entitled to more than six months ’ worth of salary if they lose their seat in an election.
Council approved a series of recommendations from the Council Compensation Review Committee (CCRC) Council also approved the committee’s recommendation to keep councillor and mayoral salaries aligned with Alberta 's Average Weekly Earnings (AWE) calculation.
The recommendations Tuesday will go into effect after the October 2025 municipal election.
