Investigators in New York and Pennsylvania are working to piece together why Mangione may have diverged from this path to make the violent and radical decision to gun down UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in a brazen.
From January to June 2022 , Luigi Mangione lived at Surfbreak, a shared penthouse at the edge of touristy Waikiki in Honolulu .
Mangione underwent a background check, but there were no complaints, a spokesperson says.
Surfbreak owner R.J. Martin learned Mangione had severe back pain from childhood that interfered with many aspects of his life.
