Bishop Emeritus Frederick Henry , 81 , died peacefully last Tuesday at Rockyview General Hospital .
Henry was the seventh Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Calgary , serving in the role from March 1998 until early 2017 .
During his episcopacy, he developed a reputation for being outspoken on various social issues, ranging from video lottery terminals to labour strikes and HPV vaccinations.
Henry 's funeral will be held at St. Mary’s Cathedral on Tuesday , starting with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. The Rite of Committal will follow with a reception afterward.
For those unable to attend the funeral in person, the service will be livestreamed via the McInnis and Holloway Funeral Homes website.
