Dr Joseph Millum , a senior lecturer in philosophy at the University of St Andrews , says Santa is a 'preposterous lie' But another researcher has argued it's okay for parents to tell kids that Santa exists because it makes Christmas better and encourages a dose of 'healthy suspicion' Dr Millum says there is 'no solid evidence' that believing in Santa is important for enjoying Christmas when you are a child.
