Stonecrop Studio ’s first open house was held exactly 50 years ago this Sunday .
It was in a log cabin, located on what was then considered the “edge of town” in a spot that would eventually become the site of Canmore Chrysler .
Stonecrop was the first fine arts studio in Canmore and played a role in transforming the town into a hub for artists.
