Louise Haigh pleaded guilty to misleading the police in Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court .
Ms Haigh said she was 'mugged while on a night out' in 2013 and reported the incident to police.
She then gave officers a list of items she believed had been taken - including a work mobile phone.
The Sheffield Heeley MP said she found out later that the mobile had not been taken.
She said: "I was a young woman and the experience was terrifying".
