•The Apple Car Is Coming for Tesla
43% Informative
There have been rumors flying left and right lately about Apple dropping their very own electric vehicle sometime around 2024 , and it's supposedly coming with autonomous driving tech and a new battery design.
This comes courtesy of anonymous sources familiar with the matter, so let's not get too invested in any of this just yet.
Apple has been working on and off with the idea of making their own car for over a decade.
If anyone's got the money to pull it off, it would be Apple .
But how are they ever going to get this to volume production from scratch? It's taken Elon Musk a decade with Tesla to get their manufacturing to a point where they are turning out large numbers of high quality cars on a regular basis.
The more practical route would probably be to partner with an existing auto manufacturer to build the physical structure, and Apple could focus on what Apple does best.
Elon Musk reached out to Tim Cook to discuss the possibility of Apple acquiring Tesla for 110th of their current value.
Tim Cook flat out refused to even take the meeting because of the Model 3 program.
While it's looking like Elon got the last laugh in this scenario, there is some alternate universe where Tesla and Apple combined to form some super company.
