Emily Calandrelli is now the 100th woman to fly to space.

She was one of six passengers aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket.

The 10-minute suborbital flight was the ninth human spaceflight in the company's history.

"This is my dream," she wrote on social media when it was announced she was going to be on the crew.

Pearlman is a contributing writer for Space.com and co-author of " Space Stations: The Art, Science , and Reality of Working in Space" Pearlman was inducted into the U.S. Space Camp Hall of Fame in 2009 .

In 2021 , he was honored by the American Astronautical Society with the Ordway Award .
