Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are co-chairs of the Department of Government Efficiency ( DOGE ) The body will aim to “dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulation, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies ”.

David Rothkopf : It's hard to tell how Ramaswamy will square the circle when the same big-money interests that secured Trump ’s election are those that benefit from the status quo.

Placing Musk in charge of an oversight body, even if it is merely an advisory position outside of government, is a prime example of regulatory capture, he says.

We can only hope that, by virtue of how insufferable they are, DOGE 's relationship with the Trump administration flames out spectacularly.
