Political scientist Leonid Goldenberg expressed skepticism about the future of the opposition in general.
Since the start of Russia ’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 , over 700,000 Russians are estimated to have fled the country.
Goldenberg said that the Russian opposition is incapable of bringing about a democratic solution to the problems of the regime.
He characterized the opposition as less a political movement and more a religious sect promising a future paradise.
