He has had rare opportunities for the procedure, but they've fallen through due to falling while at Winnipeg’s Grace Hospital .
His caregiver says she isn’t in a position to care for Schaefer whose health is rapidly deteriorating.
Schaefer has symptoms of dementia and falls into dangerous situations causing more delays.
