The historic population and economic growth the Windsor area is experiencing is fuelling a spike in demand for retail space.
According to CBRE Windsor statistics, the vacancy rate has dropped from over 10 per cent to 4.3 for the region.
The areas with the lowest vacancy rates are LaSalle , Tecumseh and east Windsor.
The completion of the Gordie Howe International Bridge is expected to lure most of the truck traffic away from Huron Church and the Ambassador Bridge .
Handysides said grocery chains have shown a particular interest in the area.
Lasalle was chosen by Loblaws as one of three municipalities in Ontario to host a pilot project for a No Name grocery store at Windsor Crossing Premium Outlet .
