Mark Ward , 55 , was one of 6,000 bleeding-disorder patients in the 1970s and 80s .
He was infected with HIV, multiple strains of hepatitis, cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus, parvovirus B19 and others.
To date, at least 3,000 people have died because of a litany of institutional failures, covered up for a generation.
Ward was diagnosed with haemophilia , a rare genetic disorder that prevents blood from clotting properly.
Doctors told his family his life expectancy would be 21 , if he was lucky.
He was admitted to the Royal Free Hospital in 1984 due to complications from his condition.
Ward is now HIV positive and hopes to raise awareness of the condition.
Ward was diagnosed with HIV at the age of 16 with haemophilia .
He was told he had two , maybe three years to live, but was told it was an accident.
He is now an out and proud gay man, at home in the LGBTQ+ community.
