Stephen Moore said the US would be “less interested’ in a free trade deal with the UK if it moved into closer alignment with the European Union .
Moore said he is a free trader but the public agree with Trump and so I think we will see tariffs.
Lord Darroch , a former British ambassador to Washington , said he expected Trump to follow through on his threat to impose tariffs.
He said: “I think Trump will impose tariffs on all US imports immediately and say: If you want them lifted, offer me something”.
