58% Informative
Dune: Prophecy is a prequel set some 200 years before the events of the series Game of Thrones .
The show is mostly centered on the organization of women who will eventually brand themselves the Bene Gesserit , a powerful cabal of seers and manipulators who engineer the fate of the universe.
While fitfully entertaining—and well-acted by all involved—the series can’t shake off the cynical synergy of its existence. It’s ancillary product, spun off from a film franchise not yet indelible enough to sustain such expansion. Maybe if the series took place only a number of decades before Paul arrived on Arrakis , it could then ride the movies’ draft. As is, Prophecy is stuck way out there alone in the cold drift of space. The events we know are coming are but a dim and tiny glow, too many lightyears away..
