Persian Plate opened in the far north suburb of Sage Hill in Calgary earlier this year .

Persian Plate is owned and operated by Saman Keshavarzi and his sister-in-law Christina McRae .

Persian food is a unique entity even though Iran borders Pakistan and is not far from Lebanon , its cuisine is distinctly different from its neighbours.

New dishes include a pan de sal ( Filipino sweet rolls) corned beef breakfast sandwich, the “ Breakfast in Manila ” plate with housemade longanisa sausage, garlic fried rice and scrambled eggs, squid ink yakisoba noodles with seafood, and Hong Kong French toast stuffed with hazelnut spread and peanut butter.

Maven diehards should not fear Hobbs still retains a “chapter” on the Maven menu.
