President Alexander Stubb announced in Baku that Finland will provide more climate financing to the world’s poorest countries.
Stubb spoke on Tuesday , along with other heads of state, at the opening ceremony of the two-week conference.
Prime Minister Petteri Orpo ( NCP ) made a similar promise of money in his opening speech at the Dubai meeting last November .
Orpo's right-wing government is cutting funding for climate actions benefitting poor countries at a scale many times higher than the promised new contributions.
