The House Oversight and Accountability Committee held a hearing Wednesday on UFOs.
A Navy official testified that he received an email from an operations officer asking for information on a series of unknown objects disrupting a pre-deployment exercise off the East Coast .
The email had disappeared by the next day , he says.
The Navy would later confirm the existence of unidentified aerial phenomena, or UFOs.
Rep. Tim Burchett introduced a bill that aims to provide protections for whistleblowers who come forward with information about federal programs studying UAPs.
Another bill, led by California Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia , would require the Federal Aviation Administration to establish reporting requirements for UAP incidents.
The Department of Defense’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office concluded that “most sightings were ordinary objects and phenomena and the result of misidentification”.
