•Council approves converting Franklin LRT parking lot into housing

A land use amendment to convert one of the park-and-ride lots at Franklin LRT station into multi-residential housing was unanimously approved by city council this week .
The proposal would see the parking lot on the south side of the station developed into apartment buildings between six to 26 storeys tall, with a mix of affordable and market housing.
Six housing developers have submitted applications, said councillor Gian-Carlo Carra .
