The Striker II fighter pilot helmet has been developed by British defence firm BAE Systems .

It presents 'mission-critical' data in front of a pilot's eyes, giving them 'unparalleled situational awareness' The RAF has paid 40 million to fit its personnel with the device, of which fewer than 100 exist.

Striker II is still undergoing flight trials with the RAF before it will be used by frontline Typhoon pilots.

The helmet is also being made available to other Typhoon users in Europe .
