Comox mother Brooke Finlayson releases open letter asking for public's support for Harriette Mackenzie .
Mackenzie , a trans female athlete at Vancouver Island University , became the target of anti-trans, social media abuse.
In an Instagram post on Nov. 1 , Mackenzie reported that after a home game on Oct. 25 , a player for the Columbia Bible College Bear Cats forcibly pushed her to the ground when she didn’t have the ball.
She included a clip of Columbia coach Taylor Claggett applauding the foul.
