The City of Edmonton eliminated 117 leadership or supervisory positions since 2020 , a 6.4 per cent drop in four years .
At the same time, another 349 new frontline positions were added.
The number of supervisors working for the municipality rose faster than frontline jobs, up 21 per cent from 2017 .
By 2020 there were 5.2 full-time frontline jobs for every one supervisor at the city.
As of 2024 , the City of Edmonton has 13 full-time positions per 100,000 people.
The ratio peaked at 14.5 in 2018 and is expected to decline to 12.6 by 2026 .
A lower ratio could mean the number of people each city worker supports has gone up since 2018 .
Mayor: “We need to demonstrate to Edmontonians we can do that without impacting frontline services”.
