Dorchester County Historical Society in Cambridge , Maryland , spent weeks trying to figure out what its “ Neild Museum gadget” was originally designed to do.
The machine was donated to the society by a fellow historical society in Delaware in the 1990 ’s.
It consists of two horizontal spinning pins, topped with pegs on a ceramic countertop, and is still in working order.
