Government said Sir Jon Cunliffe ’s Water Commission would be the biggest shakeup of the industry since privatisation.
More than 30 nature, fishing, sport and community groups penned letter to Sir Jon outlining what needs to be done to deliver “transformational change” for our waterways.
They are among more than 130 groups, who collectively represent over 10 million supporters, taking part in a march in London on Sunday .
“This Government is committed to working with campaigners and farmers to clean up our rivers, lakes and seas and has wasted no time in acting. “ Just 70 days after the election we introduced the Water (Special Measures ) Bill , which demonstrates our determination to hold water companies to account and ensure that they deliver for their customers and the environment. “And last week , we launched the largest independent review of the water sector since privatisation to attract the investment we need to clean up our waterways for good.”.
