The Harris campaign is hoping that the latest tempest over rhetoric will heighten scrutiny of how he might govern if reelected.
Most of those voters said they believed that the “guardrails in place to protect democracy” would hold.
More trusted Mr. Trump to handle those threats than President Joe Biden , who was then still the presumptive Democratic nominee.
The six states polled were Pennsylvania , Michigan , Wisconsin , Arizona , Nevada , and Georgia .
