Researchers at the University of Cambridge have developed a machine learning algorithm that can detect heart murmurs in dogs with 90% accuracy.
Heart murmurs are a primary indicator of mitral valve disease, the most common heart condition in adult dogs.
Approximately one in 30 dogs examined by a veterinarian has a heart murmur, with rates higher in small breeds and older dogs.
