Turkish prosecutor has launched an investigation into allegations that a ring formed by healthcare workers placed babies in private hospital incubators, even when they did not need them.

The alleged negligence is reported to have resulted in the deaths of 12 babies and arrest of 14 people.

The operation had been ongoing since April and 41 people, including doctors and health workers, were detained.
