•'Malicious' B.C. homeowner loses appeal in $230K lawsuit with neighbours

Edward Gokey was ordered to pay $ 230,000 to neighbours on Haida Gwaii for nuisance, assault and trespass.
Gokey had asked the B.C. Court of Appeal to find the damages “inordinately high,” especially in light of the behaviour he alleged of the neighbours.
Appeal Court found the damages for nuisance were “no doubt” high, but not “ordinarily high” even though there was no damage to the neighbours’ property.
Parsons said she had no comment on the incident.
The residence where Parsons lived wasn’t immediately returned.
Parsons said the incident occurred in the Sandpit , Surrey , area.
The incident is the latest in a series of high-profile cases in British Columbia .
The case is being investigated by a federal court in Vancouver .
