Galia Sopher was camping outside her kibbutz, Mefalsim , when Hamas began its attack in the early morning hours .
About 1,200 people were killed in the attack, which sparked Israel ’s military offensive in Gaza that has killed over 41,000 people in the Palestinian territory.
About 100 of the 250 hostages taken by Hamas in the Oct. 7 attack are still believed to be held inside Gaza , and ceasefire talks have been stalled.
Sopher questions why Israel 's domestic intelligence agencies were unable to stop the attack before it began.
“I’m still waiting to know who knew what and why they didn’t do anything,” she said. “They’re bad guys that for no other reason than being bad wanted to do bad things to us, and we succeeded because we're alive and happy and healthy and we need to remain that way.
