Sweden moved to ban cousin marriage last week , following in the footsteps of Norway , Norway and Denmark .
Tennessee banned cousin marriage in April , and other states lacking the edict have placed it under review.
I wrote on this subject 18 months ago , arguing that we in the UK should ban consanguineous marriage.
The appalling crime wave in Sweden is due to some of its clans morphing into crime syndicates.
Tribalism is an efficient social organisation for criminality: intense loyalty, clear differentiation from outsiders and little truck with rules given by an external authority.
The UK should follow Scandinavia and ban cousin marriage, but perhaps the most powerful move would be to encourage developing nations to do the same.
