•Economy Most Important Issue to 2024 Presidential Vote
86% Informative
The economy is the only issue on which a majority of voters say candidates' positions on it are an “extremely important” influence on their vote.
Just under half of voters overall agree with Trump ( 49% ) or Harris ( 47% ) on the issues that matter most to them.
Just two issues -- climate change ( 50% ) and transgender rights ( 38% ) -- are viewed by less than a majority as extremely important.
Voters are evenly divided on which candidate would better deal with gun policy.
Republican and Democratic voters broadly favor their own party’s candidate to handle each of the issues.
Majorities of Democratic voters, ranging from 88% to 97% , think Harris would be better on all seven issues.
There is more variation among Republicans for Trump 's ability to handle issues.
