•How BGE is building a new power line without eminent domain
80% Informative
BGE ’s 59-mile high voltage overhead power line project, known as the Tri-County Transmission Upgrade Project (TTUP) has earned limited attention despite an aggressive public relations campaign.
BGE said letters were mailed to potentially affected homeowners and businesses in Harford , Baltimore and Howard Counties shortly after the route proposal planning was drafted.
The Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project (MPRP) was also the birthplace of the controversial PSEG project.
The Independent Energy Connection Project ( IECP ) is still listed as "in development" on Transource 's website.
The two -route high-voltage power project aimed to build new lines through southern Pennsylvania into Maryland 's Washington and Harford Counties.
Pennsylvania residents raised similar concerns about the IECP in 2020 as Marylanders are now raising about PSEG ’s project.
