New data shows electric vehicle batteries can now provide power for over 20 years with a minimal drop in effectiveness.

Geotab took stock of almost 5,000 EVs and published the results in September .

Its analysis showed that these batteries degrade at just 1.8% each year on average, even in high-use vehicles.

This new timeline for EV batteries means the power source will likely outlast the car itself and get recycled.
