Robert Coover , innovative author and teacher, dies at 92 at age 92 .
Coover's trademarks included macabre humor, graphic sex, broad takes on everything from baseball to small towns.
He was often grouped with William Gass , John Barth and other authors of post-modern or "meta-fiction" of the 1960s and '70s .
His notable works included "The Babysitter " and "You Must Remember This".
Robert Coover won the William Faulkner Award for best debut fiction for "The Origin of the Brunists " He also received the Rea Award for excellence in short story writing and the Clifton Fadiman Medal for fiction writers deserving of more recognition.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
