Gov. Josh Shapiro won’t endorse Democratic nominee Erin McClelland for treasurer.

The political outsider made waves over the summer when she criticized Shapiro while he was under consideration to be Vice President Kamala Harris ’ running mate.

Shapiro ’s decision to stay out is the latest blow to her campaign to unseat incumbent Republican Treasurer Stacy Garrity .

Last week , Stacy Garrity said Shapiro told her in a phone call he was "supportive" of her.

Garrity has so far declined to debate Erin McClelland ahead of the Nov. 5 election.

She says she's received labor union support, but that Shapiro has said she's done a good job.
