Jon Wells died Sept. 17 in a hotel lobby after he was punched and Tasered by Calgary police.
Wells died after he repeatedly told officers he did not want to die.
Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) said officers applied “various uses of force” on the unarmed Wells .
Wells helped run an equine therapy program for clients at a recovery centre.
Ward 7 Coun. Terry Wong , one of two city councillors on the Calgary police commission, says all members of council are deeply concerned.
Wong hopes there is no undue bias or behaviour in the incident.
“I don’t think this is something that anybody anticipated and we just look forward to finding out the truth”.
